Description – Hotel Altapura Val Thorens

The Altapura stands out in the Val Thorens landscape with its strikingly bold and Nordic architecture. Built and run by the Sibuet family, who have much experience in running ski hotels in the Alps, the Altapura offers modern five star luxury and efficient, personal service, at the top of the world’s largest ski area.

The hotel is Val Thorens’ first five star hotel and its facilities are exceptional. Modern technology is in evidence everywhere with interactive touch screens, Iphone/Ipod docks plus Mac Minis in the guest rooms. Three restaurants serve high quality French and international cuisine, and the Spa facilities are wonderful. The outdoor pool is particularly fun when it’s snowing. The hotel has its own ski rental shop and boutique with direct access onto the slopes.

It is a very family friendly hotel, and has its own Kid’s Concierge. There’s a complimentary Children’s Area for children aged from three to 12, every day from 12.30 pm to 8.30 pm which includes a supervisor for the younger ones.

The Highest Ski palace invites you to discover the unique world of its restaurants: the unmissable lunch in the sun on the hotel terrace facing the Cime Caron and the in the evenings a generous gourmet buffet and carefully prepared by Chef and his team at the 2mille3 restaurant; cheese specialties at the Laiterie with traditional fondue and new original interpretations prepared by the master cheese maker Frédéric Royer Boujon of cheese; and finally a refined and gourmet dinner in the elegant atmosphere of the chic bistro Enfants Terribles Val Thorens.

The only difficulty is which one to choose your favourite, or better yet, take the time to try them all!

The 72 rooms and 16 suites at the Altapura are all spacious and contemporary in design, with fabulous views of the surrounding mountains through their large windows, comfortable beds and stylish bathrooms equipped with a shower and bathtub.
