You can also hike up to the village resort of Plagne Montalbert, depending on the conditions, it’s about 25 minutes up from the house along forest trails. Alternatively, take the easy option and catch our private shuttle bus!

Tasty breakfasts

The self-service breakfast buffet is served until 9.30am and usually includes a choice of tea, coffee or herbal tea; fresh fruit, bread, jams and fruit juice; a selection of cereals; and a daily changing special. One day it might be home-made banana bread or fruit smoothies, another it could be french toast with maple syrup; fried eggs or Scotch pancakes with bilberries and crème fraiche.

Home baked goodies & picnics

For those with a sweet tooth, you’ll have a home-made sweet treat waiting for you when you come back in the afternoon. Sit down to a lovely slice of cake or mouthwatering biscuits in front of the sitting room fire. To wash it down, help yourself to tea, herbal teas or coffee from the tea trolley in the sitting area.

They can also provide picnic lunch bags for an extra charge, just let your hosts know at least the night before.

Delicious dinners

Delicious three course dinners, heavily influenced by modern European and farmhouse-style cuisine, are served in the convivial dining areas with everyone sitting together around a large table. When possible, they use organic and/or locally reared red meat, free range chicken and eggs, and support artisan producers where they can. The menus vary depending on the season and the cook’s fancy.

Evening meals are served with good quality bottled house wines from traditional producers in the Rhone valley (you have a choice of red, white or rose and it’s unlimited with dinner). They also stock a small selection of unusual local and regional wines if you want to try something different. Following dinner, coffee, tea or herbal infusions are served in front of the fire in the sitting room.

If you have special dietary requirements, don’t worry, they’ll do their best to help. For sole occupancy group bookings, they can usually adapt their set menus to suit your group’s tastes and discuss your preferences with you before you come.

If there are children in your party (usually only sole occupancy groups), they serve a simple two course early supper served at 6.00pm, leaving the adults free to enjoy the evening meal together later.
