Just three minutes from the gondola lift the ‘Olympe’ (giving you direct access to the likes of Meribel), the hotel itself has 18 rooms (10 ‘Charm’ rooms for sole skiers or couples, six family ‘Cocoon’ rooms that sleep up to four people, and two ‘Privilege’ duplex suites for five people), whilst an adjoining annex services 10 chalet rooms, each suitable for two guests.

The Altis Val Vert Brides-les-Bains is a boutique hotel, so it naturally exudes charm; offers something a little different to what you get from large-scale or chain hotels. But this charm gets taken to a whole new level when you understand its location – in the middle of Brides-les-Bains, a working French town, itself situated within the world-famous Three Valleys ski resort.

Having been in the Chedal family for three generations (since 1976 nonetheless), the staff at Altis Val Vert pride themselves on doing as much as they can to ensure you feel as comfortable in their hotel as you do at home.

Going through a complete renovation in 2014, every Altis Val Vert Brides-les-Bains hotel room now features breathtaking views of the mountains or local nature reserve, and double-glazing windows to ensure a great night’s sleep can be had after a long day skiing.

TV, satellite channels and WiFi are available as standard, and there are some great options for families with young children, ranging from them staying for free (up to four years old) to receiving a 50% discount (five to 10 years old).

As with all the great ski accommodations, Altis Val Vert features a wellness area that consists of a sauna and steam room, whilst just 160 metres away guests can get enviable discounts on treatments such as full body massages at the popular ‘Embellie’.

There’s so much to say about Altis Val Vert Brides-les-Bains, and so much to experience, the best way to get across just how brilliant of a hotel it is is to visit yourself. If you want to ski, are looking for a hotel that ticks all the boxes yet retains the style, charm and feel of a quaint little outfit, you’re going to be hard pushed to find somewhere better than Altis Val Vert.

The Val Vert restaurant offers a refined, delicious, and varied menu, carefully crafted by the talented chef, Jean-Pascal Laugier. Renowned for his incredible low-calorie dietary menu, Chef Laugier selects only the best fresh and local ingredients and carefully blends tradition with creativity for an incredible result.

And there’s of course plenty of eating and drinking options available for all guests. Assuming you don’t wish to venture out into the local town, the hotel itself has the ‘Val Vert’ restaurant (open 7pm to 9pm) and the lounge bar is open from 5pm, providing a fantastic setting to enjoy the view of the ‘Grand Bec’ (and for information, there’s also ‘La Cave’, a fantastic bar that can even be rented on a private basis for your own requirements)

The rooms are the perfect blend of contemporary design and craftsmanship. Each room is individually decorated to offer a sense of serenity and peace, with the mountain spirit subtly present throughout.

All of the rooms have balconies to enjoy the wonderful views of the nearby mountains. The charming decor is complemented by modern amenities : Free WiFi, an Italian-style shower or bath, and flat panel TVs with international channels as well as Canal+ and CanalSat.

The hotel annex, “Le Chalet”, offers rooms in a more traditional style for a fantastic value. Two of the rooms are especially equipped for people of reduced mobility and offer access ramps and other amenities.
