Isola 2000 ski holidays offer something exceptional – located Just 1h45 minutes from Nice airport, in a resort with plenty of sun but has a great snow record. Isola 2000 is less known compared to its northern neighbours, however, it offers wonderful skiing for families, beginners and intermediates. There are also several pistes for the more experienced skier as well! 20 minutes down the road is the Isola village, which offers traditional buildings and a swimming complex.

Even if Isola 2000 doesn’t have the massive ski domains like the more famous ski resorts, this wonderful resort has so much to offer! From snow mobiling, to learning about the dogs trained to save lives in the event of an avalanche, a cinema and many other possibilities.

Isola 2000 ski resort is one of the best southern French Alps offering ski in/out from many of its accommodations.

Whilst it may not be the prettiest resort, it has been massively improved over the last few years to change its image. It offers the ‘Isola 2000 Galerie’, which houses all the shops, restaurants, supermarkets and a pharmacie indoors – like a shopping centre.

With the ‘Famille Plus’ label, a huge effort has been made to welcome families with children and can enjoy excellent hospitality and an incredible holiday!

Isola 2000 Ski Resort

Imagine being able to go skiing after only 1h45 minutes from Nice airport. There are many direct flights from the UK to Nice, so you’ll be on the pistes in literally a few hours from your home! You could even take some time to discover the beautiful city that is Nice which offers so much from the Promenade, markets and the old city centre.

Even if you are not skiing or snowboarding, there are numerous activities to keep you occupied. Such as back country walking/skiing, volleyball, snowmobiling, a farm with 80 cows, ice driving, live demonstrations from the avalanche dogs and hikes followed by a raclette!

There are plenty of restaurants serving typical mountain food such as tartiflette, raclette, fondue and local ingredients such as locally grown chestnuts and honey.

Purposely-built during the 1980’s by an English gentleman, Isola 2000 is created for access everything easily. Guests can get to the slopes from the accommodation very easily, with many offering a ski in/out experience. Thanks to the ‘shopping centre’ style design, you don’t need to venture out into the cold to find restaurants and shops. There are however, some lovely restaurants right by the pistes, such as Le Petit Chamois.

Ideal for those new to skiing and snowboarding, but with enough to keep intermediates entertained. Isola 2000 is an excellent choice for your family ski holiday!

Isola 2000 Accommodation

There are many Isola 2000 accommodation possibilities to suit every budget and need. Whether you are looking a traditional hotel offering a terrace on the piste or a residence with self-catered apartments with a spa and swimming pool.  Or perhaps a more private chalet/hotel experience outside the centre to enjoy the quiet life, but still be able to acccess the pistes directly.

It’s very important to note where you are staying to be sure to get the most out of the resort: if you choose an accommodation in the heart of the resort you will take advantage of the ‘Galerie’ with its shops, restaurants and the pistes just outside.

On the other hand, you may choose to be in one of the many hamlets and complexes outside the centre to either save money or maintain your privacy/avoid the noise. If this is the case, you will need to either take the free shuttle buses that run through the resort and/or use the finicular that connects the outer area to the Galerie.

Isola 2000 Hotels

There are several hotels located right in the centre of the resort such as the Hotel Le Druos or the Hotel Le Pas du Loup; both of which are ski in/out. They offer lovely rooms with piste views, along with a hearty breakfast and terrasses giving onto the pistes. The Pas du Loup also offers an all inclusive option

There are several residences that offer apartments that give the possibility of both self-catered or taking breakfast within the complex; such as the New Chastillon. There is a spa with a swimming pool and sauna which can be rented out privately if so desired.

Skiing in Isola 2000

Beginners

Wide and gentle green and blue runs to get an effective beginning to skiing. The well established ski school offers the important fundamentals for any age; even from 3 years old.

Intermediates

Plenty to keep the intermediate skier or boarder busy with a good selection of blue and red runs. There is a cabin and many of chairlifts that will transport you to some great pistes such as Merlier and St Sauveur.

Advanced

There are some black runs such as the Super Vallon and the Morriset. Plus, you can take a guide to discover the surrounding off piste areas.

Snowboarders also have several possibilities in Isola 2000 as there is a boarder-cross park and snow parks with ramps, jump and rails. Additionally, there is an excellent boarder school.
