Location – Chalet Dionee in La Plagne

The Chalet Dionee in La Plagne is situated in the pretty wooded village of Plagne 1800 and is a short walk away from the village centre where there are a couple of shops, a few restaurants and the La Mine pub and Bobsleigh bar.

You can usually ski to within 50 to 100m of the chalet (in really good conditions you can ski all the way to the front door).

In front of the chalet is a track that leads you, after a few minutes´ walk (about 250m), to a blue piste (Loup Garou).

From the bottom of this run you can take the Melezes and then Bergerie chairlifts that drop you above Plagne Villages, or take the 1800 chair that drops you at Aime 2000.

At the end of the day you can ski back down the blue run and along the track back to the chalet.

If you´re not ready for blue runs (or don´t fancy the walk) you can leave your hired equipment at a ski shop in Plagne Centre and catch the regular (and free) public bus that stops a short walk away (100m) from the chalet.

Food

Breakfast:

Breakfast is a good and hearty affair served between 8am & 9am (unless you arrange otherwise with your hosts).
A breakfast consists of a selection of cereals & yogurts, freshly baked bread from a local bakery, a selection of spreads and a hot breakfast option eg. scrambled eggs, french toast or pancakes with maple syrup.
The hosts make fresh porridge too and there´s always fruit juices and plenty of tea & freshly brewed coffee to get your day started.
On chalet staff day off, they provide everything you’d normally find on the breakfast table except the hot option.

Afternoon Tea:

Yummy cakes or other delicious treats will be freshly prepared every day and laid out for your return from the slopes, even on your chalet hosts day off!
You can help yourself to tea and coffee too in front of a lovely, warm, log fire in one of the comfortable chalet lounges and relax after a hard day on the pistes!
Tea and coffee is available at any time; just help yourself!

Dinner:

The chalet hosts serve fantastic, freshly prepared, gourmet three-course evening meals with complimentary wines.
On the first and last nights of your holiday, they serve pre-dinner appetisers and aperitifs.
On one evening, they will serve you a cheeseboard with a variety of delicious cheeses, some of which are made locally and are a must for cheese lovers.

Kids high tea:

The chalet hosts know how important it is to keep your little (and not so little) ones properly fueled for their time in the mountains.
It takes a lot out of them having all that fun in and on the snow.
They normally serve children’s high tea at 6pm and the chefs will normally prepare the food they serve.
completely from scratch. Usually this will be a main course and dessert.
They aim to provide the younger guests with just as much scrumptious and delicious food as the older guests which is why they try to have a chat with parents at the beginning of their stay to find out what kind of foods the children like to eat.
They even try to hide the vegetables as much as possible.
