Grand Torsai front door is literally 50m from the Fornet cable car.

Grand Torsai is the top chalet in Val d’Isère in terms of altitude.

Grand Torsaï is just above our Chalet La Couchire, sharing its entry but with more steps and even better views.

In the morning, you’ll walk down a few stairs, pick up your skis and warmed boots, cross the cavernous shared garage and emerge twenty seconds’ walk from the cable car.

If you want to take other lifts, the bus waits just outside the chalet. The first stop is at the new Laisinant Express lift, the fourth is in the village centre, and the fifth is for the nursery slopes .

Main lifts, which you can be on as fast as people from most of the main village. The bus runs into the early hours, and works as well for shopping or bopping as for skiing.

Proper breakfast- Fruit juice, porridge, cereals, bacon, eggs, baguettes straight from the famous local bakery, a croissant or pain au chocolat, yogurts, British tea and fresh coffee from Italian espresso pots.
You return from the slopes to find bread and jam, a freshly-baked cake, hot chocolate, etc. left out for you.
Dinner- the best cuts of meat and the best fresh fruit and vegetables,
Nightly canapés are followed by a three-course, fixed-menu, dinner-party-style meal
The cuisine is largely French, though with a fusion of other influences.
With dinner, unlimited quantities of a selection of very drinkable French AOC wines and vins de pays.
Wine list from which you can buy everything from slightly smarter wines to Châteaux Lafite-Rothschild or d’Yquem.
Steak and kidney pie to boeuf en croûte is also available.

Two of the bedrooms really are quite compact, but they are also the south-facing rooms with huge sliding windows giving views of thousands of acres of mountainside.
