We believe that every child who stays here is a VIP: Very Important Progeny! So at La Bergerie, they make dinner fun at the Childrenās Table. All ages muck in and friendships are forged with lots of laughter. Sometimes, the older children give Caroline a hand serving the little ones. Thereās the traditional homemade vegetable soup with cheese to start, but otherwise the menu changes every day and can be adapted to your childrenās needs. The tablemats are ideal for drawing on or colouring in before or after dinner, which is served at 7.30pm. Afterwards, with tummies filled and smiles all round, the children head off to the games room or the garden. What more could you ask for!
While the older kids ā and mums and dads! ā seem to enjoy occasionally finishing off their chargesā dinner, itās a tradition to invite the oldest children to the Table du Berger (Shepherdās Table) a couple of nights a week. Although this is principally an adult dining experience, they apply the same principles to the grown-up menu as the childrenās: quality fresh ingredients, locally sourced where possible. Once again the delicious vegetable soup makes a great starter, followed by locally made charcuterie and cheese from the high-altitude meadows and village dairies, homemade quiche and cold meats, generous salads of lettuce hearts or tabbouleh… The buffet finale is a choice of homemade desserts, but watch out for the chocolate cake, which should really carry a ādeath by…ā health warning! As per the childrenās table, the adult buffet has the same friendly atmosphere and just as many happy faces.
The 27-rooms offer all the independence a guest could demand; 21 bedrooms have kitchen facilities (also available for stays of less than 7 nights, supplement applies), with all the comfort youād expect from a 4-star establishment.
