La Clusaz Holidays – Perhaps the best-kept secret in the French mountains, La Clusaz Holidays have long been a favourite retreat stop for skiers who are eager to escape the crowds and enjoy the slopes in an attractive Savoyard village. Though not as popular as its neighbours like Chamonix or Avoriaz, the resort has in recent years gained a much-deserved spurt of attention from skiers across the globe.
Boasting a breath-taking setting on the Aravis ski area, the rustic village of La Clusaz has successfully retained its traditional charm with its pretty streets of wooden chalets surrounding the main square where you’ll find a 200 years old church, as well as the outdoor market, held weekly.
Its location in the northern part of the French Alps favours the resort in receiving average snowfall and with 125 km of local slopes or a grand total of over 200 km, if you include the Grand Bonard resort (the two combined form the Aravis ski area), you’ll have endless options to keep you occupied throughout your stay.
In addition, most part of the terrain isn’t rocky, and this means La Clusaz doesn’t necessarily need a huge depth of snow to offer an awesome skiing experience.
With Nursery slopes situated just beyond the centre, tons of confidence runs throughout the area, and tree-lined runs accessed via the Beauregard gondola, La Clusaz is a ski resort that caters for all ski abilities.
It’s an ideal destination for beginners and intermediaries although advanced skiers can also have a blast by exploring the vast off-piste terrain (preferably with a guide).

Skiing at La Clusaz is basically spread across 5 peaks; La Croix Fry-Manigod-Merdassier, Beauregard, L’Etale, La Balme and L’Aiguille.
There is over 132 km of groomed runs to enjoy and a great variety of slopes to perfect the skill – from sheltered tree-lined runs to steep slopes both below and above the treeline.
La Clusaz Ski Pass
The local regional La Clusaz ski pass ( Aravis) will give you access to over 200 km (136 miles) of ski area shared between the resort and its neighbours – Le Grand Bornand, smaller Manigod plus Saint-Jean Sixt and although they’re not interlinked by ski lifts they can easily be accessed by a reliable bus service.
Cross-country skiing is also pretty popular in the area with over 80 km of trails.

La Clusaz Accommodation

With its preserved French village architecture, La Clusaz accommodation maintains a combination of contemporary luxury and chic traditional chalets. The range of accommodation in the resort is varied with a multitude of possibilities to suit your taste, desires and budget.
The village is relatively small, which puts you in the centre of everything. The Accommodation of your choice will be a stone throw away from the heart of the resort and just a few meters from the slopes which makes it easy to traverse and spend the least time on the road. The social scene is pretty laid back which makes it a great haven if you want to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
