La Tania Chalets – Nestled between two of the most celebrated ski resorts in the world – Courchevel, and Meribel, La Tania is not only the ‘the youngest’ member in the vast ski area of Three Valleys but it’s also one of the best-kept secrets in the French Alps. And instead of being overshadowed by the glory of its illustrious neighbours, La Tania Chalets are some of the finest in the world offering great-value base with access to unrivalled skiing.
It’s a great option for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the popular resorts without compromising the skiing experience.
Initially, this charming village was purposely built to house the media for Albertville Olympics in 1992 but it has since evolved into a thriving ski resort. Although it’s much smaller compared to the counterparts in the Three Valley domain, it definitely boasts some awesome skiing.
The traditional style of wood-clad buildings coupled with its strategic position in tree-lined scenery gives La Tania an attractive atmosphere making it a perfect haven if you want a relaxing ambiance on the slopes as well as in the village.
It’s traffic-free, and this makes the resort the perfect base particularly for a family skiing holiday as you can wander freely with little kids.
In addition, the resort is relatively compact meaning most of the La Tania chalets offer convenience with easy ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes.

The resort enjoys great snow conditions, and with easy access to over 600km of slopes in Trois Vallées gives you a guarantee that no skier – irrespective of their skiing abilities would have too little terrain to explore.
For novices, there’s a mini drag for the first attempts in skiing from where you can progress to long confidence-building greens and blues runs.
There is also a fantastic choice of quieter slopes and with only two lifts, you have access to the broad ski area of the Courchevel valley.
La Tania Accommodation
La Tania accommodation is particularly popular thanks to the predominance of ski-in/ski-out options or close access to the slopes. The resort hosts over 120 stunning wood-clad chalets that ooze an authentic and unique French style.
There is a wide range of choices to suit your budget, taste and needs especially if you’re looking for chalets or apartments, although it’s advisable to plan ahead and make your booking well in advance. However, it might be a hard task if you’re after a proper hotel.

Chalet Balkiss in La Tania is one of the best chalets that are excellently located close to the resort centre and just a few meters from the gondola that takes you to Courchevel 1850 from where you can progress to the expansive Three Valley domain.
La Tania Nightlife
Despite being the smallest sister among the Three Valley resorts, La Tania nightlife is pretty impressive with a handful of bars and restaurants that buzz with visitors as well as locals. It’s a bit laidback though and may not be exactly an excellent choice for party animals but this is yet another reason why it’s more appealing to families.
